Our History

Life Church Hyde began as a small group of ordinary people meeting each week in Hyde, for mutual support and encouragement, in the living room of one of our homes.

We recognised that we were very weak and vulnerable, both individually and as a group. But as we prayed for one another, and for the town of Hyde, we began to sense that God might be asking us to start a church. Knowing that we would need help to do this, we began to build connections with the Elim movement of churches, with the support and encouragement of Elim Christian Centre in Glossop.

Then, on the 28th April 2024, we held our first meeting together in the Grafton Centre as Life Church Hyde, an Elim pioneer church. We have continued to meet each week since then and to seek the welfare of Hyde through prayer and practical service.
